King And Country Report!!

WALT identify and summaries key information to write a report.

On the 16th of August a great amount of Maori chiefs and warriors attended the marae. Many chiefs bickered at each other whether or not to fight with the New Zealander’s to protect Aotearoa. After all the chiefs had spoken they decided to join the war with the New Zealand pakeha soldiers, to protect  Aotearoa.
A month after the marae hui, they started to recruit young men to fight in the war. The age to be recruited was 20 but many of the young men still wanted to join.
One year later the new recruits were at Gallipoli where some of the men had already been killed.
Another year later more recruits joined. Some of the men were shocked at how badly the other recruits were injured.

Practice Writing

In room 8 we did a practice recount to revise for our writing test. It's about what we did at morning tea.

Today my friends, some boys and I played throws at morning tea. We played from where the old playground was to the field.
First the bell rang, it was so loud I thought all of Panmure heard it. I got my morning tea and hat then ran outside to where the tree was. When I was under the tree I ate my morning tea. It was a small cupcake without the round top but covered with chocolate and sprinkles on it.
My friend Vine, the other girls and some boys played throws. We started by throwing the tennis ball from where the girls were to where the boys were. Vine threw the ball to Kevin but he didn't catch it. Then some more boys started to play Immanuel, Evan and Avishek. When it was my turn I threw the ball not that far. When the girls had the opportunity to throw, fortunately only some of  the boys caught it.
We kept on throwing until Kevin and Avishek went to the girls team. Then Filipo joined in. After that the boys started throwing at the tree and hitting it. Once it almost hit me on the head when it fell from the tree.
When it was Avishek’s turn he almost hit Drey on the head. Sometimes Vine, Ella and Immanuel threw the ball onto the roof. This one time someone got the ball stuck in the tree but we got it down.
Finally the bell rang, I thought the girls won. But I still had a good time playing with some of the boys.
