Room 5

For the end of the year I made a poster of what Room 5 is about. This is a pic of my poster.

Net Book Reflection

It’s been faster to search things for work. We can use google. We don’t need to borrow books from the library. We don’t need to worry about losing the information or the book. It’s easy to get to. We can use our key words so it will be faster to search up.    

Theres  shortcuts like ctrl-t ctrl-c ctrl-v and ctrl-x. It’s been faster finishing our work. It’s easy to know if our spelling is right or wrong. We can also do work at home or anywhere as long if we have internet. You don’t need worry if your handwriting is good or bad because you can use different fonts.

Our work will be saved even if we close out of it. We can share our docs to other people. The teacher can leave comments to improve our work.  We can get our deleted  work back. We can put our docs in folder. Thirs tools to help you.

Christmas Concert

Maori Clothing

We are learning about maori clothing. We are looking at maori cloaks because who ever wears one means that they are important or they are the chief. I know I have learnt this when I understand the meaning of maori cloaks. This is a pic of my feather which is used to make cloaks it has a small pic of what Room 5 did over the year.
 

Isaiah 7:14

 We are learning about people in Advent one of them is Isaiah and he says how it will be like when God's ways are totally on earth. I know I have learnt this when I know what it will be like when God is on earth. This is a poster that I made that tells the meaning of Isaiah's scripture. The scripture is from Isaiah 7:14. I know this has happen because Jesus was born.

Traditional Instruments

We are learning about  traditional instruments of different cultures. I know I have learnt this when I know things about it.

Red Dwarf Star

WALT discover the different types of stars and communicate what life would be like as a tourist there. I know I have learnt when I can make something like a letter with a picture of my star. This is a postcard with a picture of the Red Dwarf Star.

Find Fractions In Shapes

WALT find fractions in shapes. I know I have learnt this when I can find fractions in shapes. This is a picture of shapes with it's fraction. The triangle is thirds, square is quarters, hexagon is eighths, oxygon is sixths and pentagon is fifths.   

Constellation

WALT find constellation in the night sky. A constellation is a picture in the night sky made by stars. I know I have learnt this when I can spot  constellations my self. This is picture of my constellation which is Cassiopeia or The Queen. It's a film canister with holes that shows my constellation.

Planets and Stars

WALT  to describe the difference of a star and a planets. I know I have learnt this when I can make a venn diagram. This is my venn diagram.

Rosary

We are learning all about the Rosary. I know I have learnt this when I know who started the Rosary which is St. Dominic and more. This is a paper Rosary that I made, painted and threaded together.

Purgatory

WALT write a prayer for the people undergoing  purgatory. I know I have learnt this when I can write my own prayer to them. This is a TRAP prayer I wrote for them. Purgatory is a place where you go to before haven, where you become your best self.

Dear Forgiving God,

Thank you for the lives that had a good time on earth and the ones that are soon to live with You.

The people in purgatory are looking back on their choices and sins so that they can be their best self because everybody in Heaven is perfect.

Please help the people in purgatory to tell the truth, and that they can be their best self and that you shall give them mercy.  

I promise to follow and became like you God, just like the Saints.

Buddys

Today Room 1 came and visited us and we taught them how to us the webcam on our chrome books. This is my buddy and she likes chocolate and she likes doing math.

Communication

WALT communicate with each other. I know I have learnt this when I can send an invitation with all the details and when they respond to it.This a invitation I made for my parents about Mission Day.

 

Dissolving

WALT conduct a fair test to find out the best way sugar can be dissolved in water. I know I have learnt this when I know the best way to dissolve things in water. This is a presentation when I did it with warm water and sugar. LT conduct a fair test to find out the best way sugar can be dissolved in water.

WALT understanding the article we are reading. I know I have learnt this when I can make something that has facts form the story. This a presentation with facts of the story I read.

WALT recognize discrimination, act responsibly to do good things. I know I have learnt this if I see someone  being discriminated I can help them. This is a story about a girl named Holly.      

A little bit more a little bit less

WALT find out the answer of a multiplication problem using a little bit more a little less. I know I have learnt this when I can figure it out. This is my presentation how to do it.

Fillters

WALT to identify solutions and mixtures before removing 
material from mixtures using filters.I know I have learnt this when I know I how to separate insoluble things like water and glitter. This is a picture of our filter.

Facebook

WALT persuade people on our view of Facebook for people under 13. 

I truly believe having a Facebook account is terrible. Facebook is bad, Facebook is awful, Facebook is against the law.

People will post things we should not see. They will type bad language to you. They will put things no one wants to see on your wall. Your friend will think you're rude.  They will unfriend you. You will have no one to share things with. The people who unfriend you might tell other people and tell more and more people. Then people you don’t know they will think you’re rude too.

If you have a Facebook you will have no privacy. If you put in your address strangers will come to your house. People might use the information against you. If you take a picture of something in your house and put in your address with it they might go there and take it. Kids that don’t like you might tell other people. Some kids that are are jealous of you might blackmail you with the information.

 

If you have a Facebook account there might be a change people might block  you from  your account. While you are blocked they might hack into your account and copy some private things. They might also stalk you. Your enemies might put rumors on your wall while you're blocked. They might put in rumors that is true about you. Some people will think it’s true.

Your friends will turn on you if you have an account.  It will only make strangers came to your house. If you get blocked it won't be any good having an account. 

Friendship

WALT identify ways of keeping and maintaining m relationship. I know that I have learnt this when I can keep my friendship together. This is my poster of how I can do it.

Sky

 WALT use a venn  compare two characters in the story.

Factory

WALT persuade people to build a factory on our courts.

I believe it's brilliant if they build the factory.

If they build the factory it will be good for our community  It will increase their business. Also they will have a big area to work in. More people get jobs. It will be a new start for people with no jobs. If they have a job they will get money.

They will help us by providing us with CCTV. CCTV will be on for 24/7 hours. We will feel more safe at school. Everyone will have more protection. They will also provide us with fencing. We will have more security.

They will also provide us with a playground. We will be able to design it what ever we want. We could design it with courts. It will new and free. If we run around the playground we will be exercising. If we exercise we will be keeping fit and healthy.

If they build the factory we will get a new playground, more security and it will be better for our community.

A.F.O.R.E.S.T

In room 5 WALT use A.F.O.R.E.S.T in a persuade text. I know i can do this when I know what A.F.O.R.E.S.T is and when I use it in my persuade writing.

A - Alliteration - example Albert had an argument with Ally about apples.

F - Facts and Figures - example There is about 30000 different kinds of fish. 

O - Opinion - example I believe that dogs are the best animal I know of.       

R - Rhetorical Question - example Would you do it?
 
E - Emotive Language - example if you give some money to charity you will make a change in the world.

S - Superlative - example I think waking u earlier is the worst.

T - Thirds -example Super Fun super great super amazing.
                                      This is what we used it for.

Food Pyramid

In room 5 WALT treat God with respect by keeping fit and healthy. I know I have learnt this when I treat my body with respect because God made us in his image.

On the top there is the fats (sweets oils). In it s a piece of cake, fudge, pancake, cookie, lollipop, chocolate. You should have 1 serving of it a week. Below the fats is the dairy. Which has butter, yogurt, milk, cottage cheese, ice cream, cheese. You should have it 2-3 servings day. Next to it is meat. Which has fish, steak, chicken, sausage. Under that is vegetables. Which has tomato, cabbage, lettuce, onion, beets, potato, broccoli, squash, pumpkin, peas, beans. Beside that is the fruits. Which has watermelon , apple, rock-melon, a orange, peaches, a pear, a pineapple, grapes, and a banana.  In the Veges section, there are tomatoes, cabbage, lettuce, squash, carrots, corn, potato, broccoli, beets, a pumpkin, and a onion.Below all of those sections is the Grains. Inside the Grains are donuts, a muffin, bologna, nuts, bread and cereal, brown rice, macaroni, spaghetti, egg, a cupcake, and a pretzel.

Targeting

WALT discover why we have ads,how they are attract attention and who they target. I know that if I read an ad I will know that it's targeting men or women or child. I know that Dove is targeting women  that care about their body.

Measure

WALT create our own estimations, measure them, then compare. I know that I have learned this when I can use this technique at home. In the photo I have done a it with a piece of paper and shoes. 

To Persuade

In room 5 WALT is to use a mind map to make is to make a proper structure of a persuading text. I know I have done this when I have a thesis, 3 reasons, 3 facts for each reasons and a conclusion.

Areas

In room 5 we are learning about area. I know that a non-standard unit of measure is the same thing as a standard unit of measure but different size and a standard unit of measure is like centimeters and millimeters.

Respect

In room 5 we are learning what the meaning of respect is. I know that when I follow the golden rule I will be able to know what the meaning. My table typed in what we think about respect.    

My Golden Gaols

In room 5 it was a new term so we wrote our goals. We wrote writing, reading and maths.

   My goal for writing is to make paragraphs with ambitious vocab so I will put in 5 ambitious vocabs in it. This is important because if I have it the people who are reading can be more interested. The steps I will take to achieve my goal will be to use thesaurus.com and use the word pyramid. I know I have achieved my goal when I check it and find 5 ambitious vocab words.

 My goal for Reading is to learn new tricky words. This is important because when I can read I can understand the story more better. The steps I will take to achieve my goal will be to sound it out, read the word, ask a buddy and check in the dictionary. I know I have achieved my goal when I read a story and answer the questions right.

 My goal for Maths is to answer faster in my basic facts test and get a high score. This is important because I can know that I have learnt my addition, subtraction, times table and divided bys. The steps I will take to achieve my goal will be to ask Mrs Richardson to give me one of the basic facts test so I can practice more and more at home. I know that I have achieved my goal when I can get 100/100 and finish under the time of 6 minutes and 30 seconds.

Tippy Tap

In room 5 WALT discover what we can do to help save water when washing our hands. Room 5 did a lot of research but we found out how to make a tippy tap. The things you will need to make it and the instructions is  will under the the writing. This is a picture of the one we made.                          
 

Emperor Angelfish

WALT blend colors using pastel and to sketch sea animals using a pencil. If you can see the little picture underneath it's what I did in my book. It took a lot of hard work and a very long time it make them. I also did abundance of little animals in the border.

My Digital Life

WALT find what our digital life is like. We used simile. If you are wondering what a simile it's like different words but it means the same. You can see what mine is on the picture.

Drop Punt

Yesterday in Room 5 did A.F.L. our couch Jerm taught us how to do a drop punt. He told us some tips the first tip was laces away from faces then the cross had to be facing up and down and our fingers had to be on the line.

A Man With Demons

In room 5 WALT recognise how people are healed by faith in Jesus and his touch I know that I have learnt this when I can talk about the stories in the Bible where Jesus heals people. This is my picture is about what a man looked like before and after he has demons 

Water and Education

 In room 5 WALT tell what is happening in Africa and the impact that unclean water has on education. I know I have achieve this when the people who are watching this understand that in Africa unclean water impacts education because it creates no school, if the kids go to school  it will do more than you think. They will be able to get a job and get money for clean water. We did research then we made a script and then we made the video. We did a lot of hard work.

Maori Mihi

In room 5 WALT introduce your self and family in Maori. I know I can introduce myself in Maori and English. This is my presentation about myself. I hope you like it.

How to wash your hands

In room 5 WALT help people to wash their hands so we don't spreed germs. We made a presentation how to wash your hands. If you wash your hands you will help stop spreading illness. Here's my presentation.
 

Synonym wheel

In room 5 WALT use ambitious vocabulary. So we made a synonym well. First we went thesaurus.com and put in the word. Next we put the words on 
sumo paint. Some of the words I used jolly, joyful and glad.

Amazing Graces

WALT recognise that each sacrament makes present its own special grace. My teacher gave me a letter its N. I use a tool to make it big. I decorated it with the graces and images. I have learnt what graces are.

10 Active Fingers!

 WALT type faster.  I'm not a faster type but I will keep trying to beat Mrs Richardson's score which is 48. I know I achieved my goal if I can beat Mrs Richardson. This is what I got.

Sketching

In Room 5 WALT sketch images using a pencil. Mrs Richardson gave us sketching pencils. Then we tried it we had to do it until we liked it. We had to talk about what we did well and what we could do better. I like the 3rd line.

Abundance

In Social Studies we are learning new words like abundance, scarcity, physical and resource. First we found out what they meant. We had to make a picture of
what we know about the word.
Then we made a picture of what it meant.This is my one.

In 10 Years Time .....

In cyber smart we were learning to create a positive digital footprint. A positive digital footprint are the positive things people see about us online. We had to make a picture about what we want people to see about us online in 10 years time. This is my future positive digital footprint.
